Guided Tours

Once you've learnt to SUP you may want to explore the region and we can help you see some of the best locations and ensure that you are safe and in the right conditions. If you're an experienced SUPer then you may want to be guided to some of the best spots along the coast here.

PADDLE BOARD TRIPS (min level 1 competence)

Our paddle boarding trips take place along the Guincho or Cascais coast depending on local conditions.

Most of the time the Cascais coast has perfect conditions for paddle-board cruising. With its excellent clean white sandy beaches and clear water you will cruise comfortably along the rugged and varied coast line. On these cruises you will be able to take in the local scenery from a different perspective, see the abundant amount of fish that swim along these coasts, and see the variety of maritime birds on the cliff tops, truly spectacular...

TOUR 1 - "Palace Tour" - 1.5 hours

As you leave the school on the way to the Palace, The Citadel of Cascais will be very clearly seen in the corner of the bay. A very visible reminder of ancient times.

The Citadel of Cascais

Citadela Cascais

This fort was built in 1488 to protect the Portuguese coastline from enemies who wanted to attack the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

Once you leave the tranquility of Cascais bay, you'll head out to sea, until you reach the mouth of the entrance where you'll go back in time as you paddleboard until the steps of the palace.

Some brief history and images of what you can expect to see on the tour:

Casa de Santa Marta

casa santa marta

Built in 1902 and founded by George O'Neill, this house had many different types of designs and influences, creating a magnificent structure. The many owners ranged from rich families to royalty.

In 1934 the house was owned by the Espírito Santo family, who received famous visitors such as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Other visitors to the house include the former US president Richard Nixon.

Palácio dos Condes de Castro Guimarães

The Palácio dos Condes de Castro Guimarães was originally known as the Torre de São Sebastiao and was built in the 1900 as a summer residence in Cascais, and later became a museum (1931). The museum includes national and international paintings, furniture, pocelain and jewellery. The buildings most prominent feature is the tower.

In 1910, the house was sold to the first count of Castro Guimarães, who lived there with his wife until 1927. Many of the items currently in the museum were obtained in that period. Some of the most important purchases were 16th century manuscripts.

TOUR 2 - "Casa da Guia" - 2 hours

On this tour you will pass by the lighthouse, the entrance to the Palácio dos Condes de Castro Guimarães and continue along the coast until you find Boca do Inferno, an old sea cave which collapsed, making a spectacular chasm. As the waves break it is an amazing view - especially at sunset. From this point on you will continue to Casa da Guia, the last stop on the tour.

Casa da Guia

 Casa da Guia

A 19th century palace situated on the high cliffs set in a magnificent landscape can be seen by paddleboard at the end of the tour.

Casa da Guia is currently a meeting point for families and friends with an abundance of restaurants for all needs, where you can eat and watch the ocean below.
